So I'm replenishing the cheese case today when all of a sudden there's a swarm of cops. Unmarked, bike, and ATV cops. They're dealing with a young latino guy. so of course we're all a-twitter. Then one of the cops comes in and asks us if we know how long the red pickup has been in front of the store. Jan says she saw it when she came in 1 hr earlier. Apparently there's some question as to the ownership of the truck. the kid told the cops that he had parked there, and that the truck was stolen by a black guy who carjacked him, drove west on an eastbound one way street and then brought the truck back to the same place, parked and ran away. So, not so much a carjacking as a "car borrowing to do a few errands, but I'll bring it right back."
