In high school, we had a star basketball player named John Betancourt. He went to UMass and was a teammate of Dr J.
I and many others had a small crush on John, but he was serious with someone in the class behind ours.
Dr J went on to glory, and brought along some of his team. John became a PR guy for the Sixers, and later morphed into the LA music biz, where Roberta told me he did "alot" of coke, and divorced that same high school cutie.
When Dr J lost his son a coupla years ago, I read that John was there, but other than that, I lost touch entirely...and, I don't care.
So there.

By the way...Dr J was an AMAZING B ball player. Nobody had ever seen the kinds of stuff that he was doing.
