Small Son clocks in at 5 lbs. 11 oz. as of this morning. He refused to let us get a nice picture of his face, sticking hands ("hey, big hands," sez the technician) (and y'all know what that means) and knees and everything in the way. But y'know, we'll be seeing his face for really and truly, in living color and surround sound, in just a few more weeks, right? He's a healthy size and weight and looks completely fine. He's head down now and ready to go.
I have not dilated any further, and my cervix has softened only a little. My blood pressure continues to climb, and I am to watch for headaches, but my urine remains protein-free, so no pre-eclampsia. I am not on bedrest. Let me repeat: NOT on bedrest. The doctor did say, though, that I should take it easy, and that I should continue to do just as I have been doing when the contractions start up: drink water and lie down and rest.
We talked a bunch about what would happen if I did go into labor at this point or very soon. Basically, the baby should be fine, with mainly a small risk of jaundice. If I did go into labor now, it wouldn't be optimal, but they would not take any serious measures to stop it. In two and a half weeks, the baby will be term, anyway.
My bet for baby's birthdate: June 30. Husband bets July 12. When do you guys think? The one who claims the nearest date gets naming rights over--no, not the baby!--a pair of baby's big stuffed animals, a pig and a rhino. Will post pix of them later.

I have heard of a whole lot of babies having jaundice. They put'em under a sunlamp, and let the little ones fry a bit, and then they're ok
But--when's your bet for???
Why are you writing bad English?
