Ananyms

Classicists say the darnedest things. I've just learned that there's a small but non-negligible body of evidence that the Romans used to write (or joke about writing) a person's name backwards, that is, as an ananym, in order to imply that the person thus designated enjoyed being anally penetrated. Needless to say, I was not aware of this when I chose my pseudonym/ananym on this blog.
