Snakes on a Plane

A friend of mine sent me this email, which I have mildly edited. The possibility of his song actually making it into the official soundtrack of Snakes on a Plane is simply too wonderful for me to pass up plugging his contribution here. If you like, please vote and pass on to friends.

And if you don't know about the phenomenon that is Snakes on a Plane, well, it's a movie starring Samuel Jackson about terrorists or someone smuggling hundreds of snakes on to a plane. Look here for the as-yet uninteresting official site. This is the blog entry that, no shit, actually forced the studio to change the working title of the film back to Snakes on a Plane. For some numbskull reason, they thought that the title didn't have respectability or something. What a bunch of maroons. And this is the invaluable Urban Dictionary entry for the title, which has now forever infected/infiltrated our linguistic consciousnesses with its purity and glory. Read it and weep, O my meme writing brothers and sisters, for they have succeeded where you have failed.

If you're still confused about why anyone should care about Snakes on a Plane, here's a helpful WikiPedia article about the film.

The studio is sponsoring a song contest – the winning song is going to be put in the movie. I have written and recorded a ridiculous love duet called “Two Snakes On A Plane.” You can hear it here.

The voting process is kind of annoying, but here’s how to do it:
Go here and sign up for an account. You don’t have to use your real email address, and you can make as many fake accounts as you want.

Go here and click on Click Here To Vote.

In the drop-down menus, select “By Name” under Sort and for Name Filter choose “T”

Look for The Guesstimates and click the vote button.

Once you’re done, you can logout, make a new account, and vote again! We’ve been doing really well so far and we've been getting lots of support on blogs and message boards. We're currently 2nd place out of 460 entries. Ultimately, the studio will pick their favorite from the top vote-getters.
